Our Principal Lawyers

Dean McKenzie – Principal

Dean was admitted as a Solicitor in 1999.

Dean is a litigation and dispute resolution expert with considerable experience in a wide range of commercial disputes. Dean has acted for large insurance companies and mercantile agencies and has represented his clients in the Local, District, Supreme and Federal Courts.

Dean also has extensive experience in the practice area of property law and has worked as an Accredited Mortgage Broker, with notable experience in the conveyancing of both residential and commercial properties.

Dean maintains a close relationship with all his clients and is passionate in assisting them in achieving commercially desirable outcomes quickly and cost-effectively.

Geoff Versace – Consultant

Geoff was admitted as a Solicitor in 1989.

Geoff is regarded as a pre-eminent practitioner in commercial litigation and insolvency. He has acted in a number of high profile matters and has assisted his clients in obtaining favourable outcomes in the District, Supreme and Federal Courts, including (but not limited to):

  • HP Mercantile Pty Ltd; In the Matter of Tumut River Orchard Management Ltd (in Liq); In the matter of Meribah Investment Pty Ltd (in Liq); v Tumut River Orchard Management Ltd (in Liq) [2009] FCA 1456 (Federal Court proceedings)
  • Turco v HP Mercantile Pty Ltd; Marinelli v HP Mercantile Pty Ltd; Turco v HP Mercantile Pty Ltd (No 2) [2009] NSWCA 209 (Supreme Court, Court of Appeal proceedings)

Geoff is also particularly knowledgeable and experienced in alternative dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration and expert neutral determination in achieving timely and cost-effective results for his clients.

Geoff has also completed the Customs Brokering course and has extensive knowledge and experience in Custom Brokering and International Trades.

Addy Pong – Lawyer

Addy was admitted as a Solicitor in 2008.

Since joining the firm in 2010 Addy is predominately involved in litigious matters under the supervision of Geoff Versace.

With the advantage of being multi-lingual in Cantonese and English, and with experience working off-shore in Hong Kong, Addy is able to offer customised legal service for our Chinese clientele.
